Who is Basic Clownery?

Basic Clownery, or Macy, is a fashion Maximalist living with her girlfriend in a 24-sqm condo unit in the belly of the beast—if the beast were a traffic-congested city called Manila. It has always been a mystery how she manages to fit so many of her clothes into their tiny space, as if her closet were a Mary Poppins bag.

Her day-to-day outfits make her feel like a clown sometimes, hence the name.

She has worked as a stylist, editor, and content writer. Aside from writing about fashion, she writes poems and short stories on magical surrealism, horror, and queerness.

Her idea of a good time is dressing to the nines to hang out at a cafe and read.

She is criminally underrated.
